At present this facility was limited to debit cards only.
Taking advantage of the growing popularity of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Google Pay has announced this in association with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Tuesday. The company said that now users will get the facility to make UPI payments through credit cards. However, this facility has currently been issued for RuPay credit cards.
With the new announcement, users can link their RuPay credit card with Google Pay. So that all those online and offline merchants can be paid, Where RuPay Credit Cards are accepted.
The facility is now available for RuPay credit card holders of Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, Indian Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab National Bank and Union Bank of India. The company is preparing to connect other banks with this facility soon.
Now making UPI payments on Google Pay will be easier with the help of Rupay credit cards. Linking Google Pay with Rupay Credit Card is as easy as linking it with Debit Card. After this, go to the settings of the app and set up the payment option from here.
Now users have to select RuPay Credit Card option from Payment and Add account. Here users have to enter the last six digits of the credit card, expiry date and PIN number.
After this, OTP verification has to be done from the registered mobile number. After OTP verification, users will be able to make UPI payment with Rupay Credit Card.
